The most DANGEROUS ANIMAL in the world under the microscope
These transmit countless diseases and are responsible for one million deaths worldwide and approx. 700 million infections. Mosquitos reproduce in water and their larvae will form into adult mosquitos, which are able to transmit diseases (human and non-human). I found some standing water in my garden and collected some mosquito larvae for microscopy.

    The larva you thought that it hached was moving slightly. One information that I like to share , mosquito after it haches they feed on plants (sucking plant juce) and females need blood when they are ready to produce eggs

    Insects are delicious. Also insects are descendants of Crustaceans (e.g. crabs, shrimps, etc..), technically they are Crustaceans (e.g. crabs, shrimps, etc..), just like birds are dinasours. That is not much difference between eating insects and eating shrimps.

    Use vinegar in your cat water fountains! I have hard water and it can build up in the nooks and parts or the water fountains. I then use bleach and let it run for about 30 mins. Then I rinse and run it many times with clean water. My cats puke much less now that I use both of these processes!

    Mosquitos and their larvae in general are harmless. I lived in Texas for many years and getting sucked on by mosquitos is just a fact of life there...extremely few people contract serious disease from them in the US. Cool vid

      Very few people get hit and killed by cars in your life but that doesn't mean a lot of people don't die from it nor does it mean cars aren't dangerous. It's a risk, someone always loses.

      guess it's more about finding the balance. and not encouraging the overpopulation of them by emptying your standing water now and again.

    • @MCNarret
      @MCNarret День тому

      @@ExploreTheMicrocosmos it's not about fearing everything, but respecting danger that does exist and does matter. I'm not suggesting running away screaming if you see a mosquito, just that they ARE dangerous. Life is risk, but you don't have to be blind about risk, being blind about them costs lives.

    Would you make a video where you add the bacteria that kills mosquito larvae under the microscope? It usually comes in a small puck that you drop into the standing water. Would be cool to see what they look like and how effective it is.

      Couldn't that breed diseases?

    • @MichaelAChang
      @MichaelAChang 2 дні тому

      @@completeandabsolutenerd No, the larvae is eaten as fish food before they develop through the pupal stage. I keep the larvae in a separate aquarium on my patio where they are well-fed with fish flakes so they don't cannibalize one-another. keeping it outside also allows adult mosquitos to lay eggs so the cycle continues.
